TREMONT, Ill. — Farmers are invited to deepen their agronomic knowledge at Precision Planting’s free, full-day summer sessions: the Radicle Summit and Precision Technology Institute Agronomy Days.
“When it comes to agronomic insights — from soil fertility to in-field research and fertility application — you can never know too much,” said Bryce Baker, North America Tactical Marketing, Precision Planting.
“These events have become summer staples for so many farmers across the country, answering growers’ questions and offering research results and data to help strengthen yields and increase efficiencies. We’re pleased to offer them again this year.”
Kicking off the summer sessions July 22 at Precision Planting headquarters in Tremont, the Radicle Summit will provide farmers with practical, ready-to-use strategies for tackling soil testing, analyzing soil fertility data and maximizing savings in high-fertility fields.
“Nutrients are one of the biggest expenses farmers have each year,” said Dale Koch, senior director, Radicle Agronomics.
“Finding soil testing solutions which not only make it easier but also help maximize dollars is important no matter the size or type of operation. Our goal for farmers attending the summit is to provide those solutions.”
Sessions for the daylong event will cover steps to help farmers get more value from their fertilizer investment; Sample-to-Script, a new offering from Radicle Agronomics, which helps farmers simplify the soil testing process; success strategies for fertilizer application and how new data is shaping nitrogen recommendations for the future; benefits of soil analysis; and a Q&A session followed by a new technology announcement from Radicle Agronomics.
Beginning July 28 and running through July 31 for the first week and repeating Aug. 4-7, Agronomy Days at the PTI Farm in Pontiac will highlight agronomic research, equipment optimization, sprayer advancements, fertility placement and seed emergence.
“Since 2018, we’ve been conducting research and hosting farmers at our PTI Farm to help better understand key on-farm needs and better solve on-farm problems,” said Jason Webster, lead commercial agronomist, Precision Planting.
“This year, we’re hosting eight total sessions with sessions repeating daily for the duration of Agronomy days, so farmers have plenty of opportunity to pick a day that works for them.”
This year’s Agronomy Days focus on a range of topics and hands-on sessions, including:
• UTV demo experience highlighting Symphony Sprayer solutions.
• Clarity blockage monitoring and Radicle Agronomics soil sampling to help guide fertilizer investment and application.
• Fine-tuning planter performance and plant emergence with the help of Panorama.
• Benefits of autonomous field operation with PTx Trimble OutRun and Water Management.
• An in-field look at the power of seed orientation with help from Precision Planting’s Cornerstone Planting System and ArrowTube seed orientation.
• Tram-guided agronomy tour of the PTI Farm.
PTI Farm Agronomy Days begin daily at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m. Lunch is provided.
Farmers interested in attending the Radicle Summit can register at Radicle.ag. Farmers who wish to register for the PTI Agronomy Days can register at precisionplanting.com.
“Farmers have to contend with so many variables outside of their control when it comes to their operations — weather, commodity prices, regulations and more,” Baker said.
“Precision Planting’s Radicle Summit and PTI Agronomy Days are in place to help farmers get a handle on one of the variables they can control — knowledge.”
