4-H champions crowned at State Fair

Supreme Drive results are in

INDIANAPOLIS — The 2023 Indiana State Fair Supreme Drive, hosted by Indiana Farm Bureau, was held Aug. 13 at the Indiana State Fair.

The Supreme Drive specifically highlighted female breeding animals such as gilts, ewes, heifers and cows — all representing the finest breeding stock Indiana has to offer.

Supreme Champions

• Supreme Champion Gilt: Owen Hege, Crossbred, Jasper County.

• Supreme Champion Ewe: Lilly Williamson, Southdown, Hamilton County.

• Supreme Champion Percentage Doe: Grace Ellis, Yearling, Johnson County.

• Supreme Champion Full Blood Doe: Tegan Walker, Junior, Clinton County.

• Supreme Champion Dairy Heifer: Ellie Bollenbacher, Jersey, Marshall County.

• Supreme Champion Dairy Cow: Dillon Freeman, Milking Shorthorn, St. Joseph County.

Reserve Supreme Champions

• Reserve Champion Gilt: Caroline Hartzell, Duroc, Elkhart County.

• Reserve Champion Ewe: Kassidy Schakel, Natural Color, Hamilton County.

• Reserve Champion Percentage Doe: Olivia Rosemeyer, Yearling, Franklin County.

• Reserve Champion Full Blood Doe: Jacob Wickard, Senior, Hancock County.

• Reserve Champion Dairy Heifer: Kale Beer, Holstein, Adams County.

• Reserve Champion Dairy Cow: Breanne Freeman, Jersey, St. Joseph County.
