From the Fields: Preparing for planting in southern Indiana

While my husband has been busy putting a new floor in a grain bin and getting the planters ready, I have been working lots of overtime preparing farm and individual tax returns.

I’m looking forward to spending more time on the farm, helping secure the rest of our preseason inputs and preparing our new season budgets. For me personally, I have to get to the end of tax season so I can spend more time on the farm.

We never feel fully prepared soon enough; however, after looking at the extended weather forecast, it appears we might have some extra time this year before we start getting our crops in the ground.
