Planting season went well. We started planting soybeans April 23, planted for two days and then switched to planting corn for two days. It rained and we had about a five- to seven-day break and then got back to it and got the rest of the corn planted. We then went back to planting soybeans and we were done planting around May 12.
We have real nice stands. Everything is looking really good. We’re very happy with the way things are looking and coming up.
We got done sidedressing last week. I got the second shot of nitrogen put on the fields where I had annual ryegrass on and I didn’t have nitrogen in the burndown. I sidedress those fields. I can’t have nitrogen in the burndown because it won’t kill the annual ryegrass. So, I just use water, Roundup and a residual to kill the annual ryegrass. Then I sidedress the nitrogen later.
Today, on June 9, I’m winterizing the nitrogen applicator since I’m done with it. I’m washing it off and getting it ready to put away. I’m also greasing the land roller and getting it ready to put away.
