FPS auction benefits Farm Rescue

Dan and Kacey Sullivan stand next to the 1976 John Deere 4230 tractor with 2,944 hours they donated with 100% of the “hammer price” going to Farm Rescue. The tractor will be among those auctioned off at the Farm Progress Show on Aug. 27 in Decatur, Illinois.

DECATUR, Ill. — BigIron and Sullivan Auctioneers announced the results of the highly anticipated Farm Progress Show auction, where tractors, collector trucks and rare equipment drew bidders from across the country.

“The auction exceeded projections by 34%, underscoring both the generosity of the agricultural community and the strength of the BigIron platform. For sellers, it’s a reminder that listing with BigIron and Sullivan Auctioneers means access to unmatched reach and competitive results,” said the companies in a news release.

This year’s auction drew tremendous engagement, with 513 bidders, 89 buyers and 2,000 watchers representing 49 states. In total, 96 lots were sold, generating 6,093 total bids — averaging 62 bids per lot.

The 1976 John Deere 4230 2WD tractor, donated by Dan and Kacey Sullivan, was among the most notable pieces sold.

Featuring just 2,944 hours, a Quad Range transmission, Sound-Gard cab, new interior, R134A air conditioning and original paint and tires, the tractor brought $31,750 for Farm Rescue.

“We were honored to donate the John Deere 4230 Tractor to this special auction,” Dan Sullivan said.

“What started as one donation quickly inspired others, and it turned into something truly meaningful. It’s rewarding to know these efforts will directly support families through Farm Rescue.”
