Capturing life on the farm: Indiana Farm Bureau Photo Contest winners named

The 2025 Indiana Farm Bureau Photo Contest winning photo was captured by April Lamb of Kosciusko County.

INDIANAPOLIS — April Lamb of Kosciusko County won first place in the 2025 Indiana Farm Bureau Photo Contest.

Her photograph shows her three children — ages, 2, 5 and 7 — watching cows with her father-in-law in his cattle barn in Milford in northern Indiana.

“It was a really sweet moment that I wanted to capture,” Lamb said. “Both my family and my husband’s family are involved in agriculture.

“My dad farms commercial crops and my father-in-law is a large-animal vet who also raises cattle. It is so fun to watch our kids, who are now getting into 4-H, embrace and enjoy agriculture, too.

“I love being a visual creator. It brings me joy to see that the photos I capture have a lot of meaning.”

The second-place award was given to Linsie Middlesworth of Grant County. The photo shows the relationship between farmer and farm dog as they overlook the fields at sunset.

The third-place award was given to Jackie Horton of Hancock County. The photo shows a beautiful red, round barn at sunrise.

The contest was open to all INFB members 18 years or older. Photos were required to represent agriculture and rural life in Indiana.

The photographers won a monetary prize. Their photos will also be displayed at INFB’s 2025 state convention, the Ag Gathering, to be held in French Lick.
