PENFIELD, Ill. — Looking for tractor parts, tools, lawn mowers, implements or other items? Chances are the Trading Post at Historic Farm Days may have it.
The Trading Post, located on the eastern edge of the showgrounds, has been a popular one-stop-shop feature at the Penfield event for over a decade.
“There’s everything from primitive farm tools, hand tools, tractors, we’ve had combines, farm implements, plows, discs, lawn mowers, parts — just everything you could imagine that’s ag related, basically,” said Chuck Stelter, I&I Antique Tractor and Gas Engine Club president.
Over the years, it’s been a popular must-see spot for antique tractor enthusiasts looking for a part or parts they may need to restore a tractor.
The Trading Post typically features 100 to 150 items for sale.
“If you have a piece of equipment, a tractor, an implement, a lawn mower, any type of farm tools, tools or anything ag related that you would like to sell, you can bring into the Trading Post. The people tell us how much they want for it,” Stelter said.
“The I&I takes out small a small commission — 5% — for handling the sale. At the end of the show, we settle up with everybody.”
Traci Bosch chairs the Trading Post at Historic Farm Days with assistance from Jim and Pam Wood.
The Trading Post will be open every day of the show, July 10-13.
