Indiana crop progress for week ending June 28

There were 3.4 days suitable for fieldwork in Indiana for the week ending June 28, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 2% very short, 4% short, 60% adequate, and 34% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 2% very short, 6% short, 63% adequate, and 29% surplus.

Corn silking reached 4%, compared to 2% last year, and the five-year average of 3%. Corn condition was rated 2% very poor, 7% poor, 27% fair, 56% good, and 8% excellent.

Soybeans emerged reached 100%, compared to 93% last year, and the five-year average of 97%. Soybeans blooming reached 5%, compared to 7% last year, and the five-year average of 9%. Soybean condition was rated 2% very poor, 6% poor, 28% fair, 56% good, and 8% excellent.

Winter wheat harvested reached 15%, compared to 20% last year, and the five-year average of 35%. Winter wheat condition was rated 2% very poor, 4% poor, 26% fair, 55% good, and 13% excellent.

Pasture and range conditions were rated 1% very poor, 5% poor, 26% fair, 60% good, and 8% excellent.
