Indiana crop progress for week ending June 21

There were 3.3 days suitable for fieldwork in Indiana for the week ending June 21, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 3% short, 70% adequate, and 27% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 7% short, 66% adequate, and 27% surplus.

Corn emerged reached 96%, compared to 93% last year, and the five-year average of 97%. Corn condition was rated 2% very poor, 3% poor, 24% fair, 64% good, and 7% excellent.

Soybeans emerged reached 95%, compared to 89% last year, and the five-year average of 93%. Soybean condition was rated 1% very poor, 3% poor, 25% fair, 63% good, and 8% excellent.

Winter wheat harvested reached 5%, compared to 2% last year, and the five-year average of 15%. Winter wheat condition was rated 1% very poor, 2% poor, 26% fair, 60% good, and 11% excellent.

Pasture and range conditions were rated 9% poor, 30% fair, 53% good, and 8% excellent.
