Indiana crop progress for week ending June 14

There were 3.6 days suitable for fieldwork in Indiana for the week ending June 14, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 2% very short, 8% short, 71% adequate, and 19% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 3% very short, 11% short, 71% adequate, and 15% surplus.

Corn emerged reached 93%, compared to 88% last year, and the five-year average of 92%. Corn condition was rated 4% very poor, 8% poor, 26% fair, 55% good, and 7% excellent.

Soybeans planted reached 96%, compared to 93% last year, and the five-year average of 95%. Soybeans emerged reached 87%, compared to 84% last year, and the five-year average of 86%. Soybean condition was rated 3% very poor, 8% poor, 27% fair, 56% good, and 6% excellent.

Winter wheat headed reached 97%, compared to 93% last year, and the five-year average of 97%. Winter wheat condition was rated 3% very poor, 5% poor, 30% fair, 49% good, and 13% excellent.

Pasture and range conditions were rated 2% very poor, 6% poor, 28% fair, 56% good, and 8% excellent.
