Illinois crop progress for week ending June 14

There were 3.2 days suitable for fieldwork in Illinois for the week ending June 14, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 4% very short, 11% short, 57% adequate, and 28% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 4% very short, 13% short, 63% adequate, and 20% surplus.

Corn emerged reached 94%, compared to 92% last year, and the five-year average of 95%. Corn condition was rated 1% very poor, 5% poor, 28% fair, 54% good, and 12% excellent.

Soybeans planted reached 95%, compared to 93% last year, and the five-year average of 94%. Soybeans emerged reached 89%, compared to 86% last year, and the five-year average of 88%. Soybean condition was rated 2% very poor, 5% poor, 32% fair, 50% good, and 11% excellent.

Winter wheat headed reached 98%, compared to 99% last year, and the five-year average of 99%. Winter wheat harvested reached 20%, compared to 1% last year, and the five-year average of 11%. Winter wheat condition was rated 2% very poor, 4% poor, 19% fair, 61% good, and 14% excellent.

Pasture and range conditions were rated 1% very poor, 5% poor, 32% fair, 48% good, and 14% excellent.
