LA SALLE, Ill. — Many farm businesses are facing some of the tightest margins they’ve seen in years, driven by high input costs and ongoing pressure in the agricultural economy.
The financial strain farmers face today isn’t just an agricultural issue. When farm incomes tighten, the effects ripple through local businesses, jobs and entire communities.
Therefore, AgriNews has created a Community Marketing Grant program awarding up to $100,000 total in matching advertising credits to assist locally-owned-and-operated farms and ag businesses.
“We are creating an opportunity to help local businesses continue their marketing and advertising efforts, as well as maintain existing partnerships,” explained Market Manager Jeanette Smith.
“We are launching our Community Marketing Grant program to help local businesses stretch their advertising dollars during this especially difficult time. For every dollar in advertising spent, local businesses receive a dollar-to-dollar match of additional advertising for free, up to $10,000.”
Grant credits can be used to purchase print and digital advertising in the Illinois AgriNews and Indiana AgriNews newspapers, as well as online at agrinews-pubs.com.
Grants are available for a minimum of $200 and maximum of $10,000 in matching advertising credits each month. They will be awarded in May, June and July and must be used within that particular month.
“We are open to accepting almost any local business that chooses to apply,” Smith said. “We are working together with businesses to use this program as a way to give back. During these unprecedented times, AgriNews is committed to helping our community.”
