PARIS, Ill. — GSI has completed a significant expansion of its dry fertilizer equipment manufacturing capabilities, investing $1.2 million in a dedicated crane bay at its facility in east-central Illinois to meet the growing demand for its products.
The expansion created a dedicated bay and workforce exclusively focused on the manufacturing of blending towers components and other equipment used in fertilizer blending facilities.
Prior to the expansion, GSI’s fertilizer operation shared resources with other product lines at the plant.
Phil Brown, plant manager, said having facilities and staff dedicated exclusively to fertilizer will improve customer experiences, including reducing lead times and creating more flexibility in scheduling.
With these improvements, the plant has significantly improved production efficiency and doubled its fertilizer equipment manufacturing capacity.

“This expansion is about focus and reliability,” Brown said. “We now have a stable, skilled workforce entirely committed to fertilizer equipment manufacturing. That translates into shorter lead times, consistent product quality and reliable delivery for our customers across the U.S.”
The Paris facility now spans 300,000 square feet on a 40-acre site, with 40,000 square feet allocated exclusively to fertilizer equipment manufacturing.
Brown emphasized that the investment has greatly enhanced GSI’s ability to meet increasing demand with speed and consistency.
“This is more than an operational change,” he said. “It’s a long-term commitment to the fertilizer industry. We’ve dedicated resources and infrastructure to ensure we can provide growers with the products they need, when they need them.”
