INDIANAPOLIS — Over 100 4-Hers met at the Statehouse to learn about state government, tour the building, meet representatives and serve as student pages.
“Our 4-H community is pretty large, and I love what it teaches the kids,” said state Rep. Craig Snow, R-Warsaw, in a video from Purdue Extension. “It’s not just about agriculture, farming and animals — but about life.”
The inaugural 4-H Day took place last February.
The event gives students in grades 7-12 a chance to practice civic engagement and learn leadership skills.
“Indiana 4-H has given me a wide variety of leadership skills,” said Caroline Donaldson, state 4-H ambassador.
“It’s given me multiple opportunities, especially as a state ambassador. And I wouldn’t change that for the world.”
