URBANA, Ill. — In just one semester, active members of IlliDell of Alpha Gamma Sigma men’s agricultural fraternity at University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana are receiving $47,000 in academic scholarships.
Awards were presented during the fraternity’s April 12 scholarship dinner, conducted at the Urbana Country Club.
Sixteen candidates qualified for scholarships, with some receiving multiple awards, according to IlliDell of AGS Executive Secretary Cole Stalter, Fisher. Ten individuals were honored for a earning a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
Active members of IlliDell of AGS are eligible to apply for academic scholarships each semester. Monetary awards are given on the basis of GPA, fraternity and campus leadership.
“Alumni and parents of these outstanding young men are extremely proud of their hard work, particularly during such an unusual time to be earning a degree,” Stalter said. “Such high academic performance, at this time, really shows the determination and mettle of the young men who choose the IlliDell brotherhood.”
IlliDell outperformed all other UIUC fraternities in both the spring 2019 and fall 2020 semesters, earning the highest cumulative fraternity GPA on campus.
