JEFFERSONVILLE, Ohio — Todd Jeffries, vice president, announced the winners of Seed Genetics Direct’s 2025 corn and soybean yield contests.
Corn Yield Contest
• First place — $5,000 of seed from Seed Genetics Direct and $5,000 of herbicides from Herbicides Direct: James Jacobs, of Bloomingburg, Ohio, with AGI-C-4111PWE, yielding 323.36 bushels per acre, and AGI-C-6112PWE, yielding 304.07 bushels per acre.
• Second place — $2,500 of seed from Seed Genetics Direct and $2,500 of herbicides from Herbicides Direct: Don Jackson, of Camden, Ohio, with AGI-C-6112PWE, yielding 297.06 bushels per acre.
• Third place — $2,000 of seed from Seed Genetics Direct and $2,000 of herbicides from Herbicides Direct: Tim and Tom Hartsock, of Hartsock Farms in Circleville, Ohio, with AGI-C-3114PWE, yielding 257.79 bushels per acre.
Soybean Yield Contest
• First place — $2,500 of seed from Seed Genetics Direct and $2,500 of herbicides from Herbicides Direct: Wenning Farms Inc., of Greensburg, Ind., with ET-4738E3, yielding 102.54 bushels per acre.
• Second place — $1,500 of seed from Seed Genetics Direct and $1,500 of herbicides from Herbicides Direct: Kannon Jones, of Greensfork, Ind., with ET-4736E3, yielding 99.66 bushels per acre.
• Third place — $1,000 of seed from Seed Genetics Direct and $1,000 of herbicides from Herbicides Direct: Bruce Stephens, of 85:10 Farms in Columbus Grove, Ohio, with ET-3731E3, yielding 90.89 bushels per acre.
Jeffries said corn entries averaged 286.768 bushels per acre and soybean entries averaged 85.23 bushels per acre.
“With the continuous addition of new genetics, Seed Genetics Direct has moved to new yield levels with both corn and beans” he said.
