NASCAR drivers reach 20 million miles driven with ethanol

INDIANAPOLIS — NASCAR race cars have driven 20 million miles with Sunoco Green E15, a fuel blended with 15% ethanol.

Growth Energy, a trade association representing U.S. bioethanol producers and supporters, has partnered with NASCAR since 2011.

Together they have reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 20% across NASCAR’s three national touring series while also increasing horsepower on the racetrack.

“Twenty million NASCAR miles driven on Sunoco Green E15 is a significant milestone for our environment and NASCAR’s sustainability platform initiative,” said Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor.

“Mile after mile, E15 has also proven its ability to flawlessly perform in the most demanding driving environments, both on the track and for drivers across America.

“Filling up with E15 both on and off the track continues to be the smart choice for drivers who care about high performing engines, reducing emissions and saving money at the pump.”
