SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Mother’s Day is quickly approaching on May 11, and this year the Illinois Beef Association aims to give mothers from beef cattle operations special recognition.
Mothers are arguably one of the most hardworking roles on every farm. From feeding cows or kids, doing house and barn chores, hauling to a stock show or soccer practice, our moms do it all.
In recognition of their love, dedication and devotion to family and livestock, the IBA is celebrating Illinois beef moms through its “Mom of the Farm” program.
The “Mom of the Farm” will be based on nominations from kids, grandkids, husbands and anyone who has a mom worthy of being recognized this Mother’s Day season.
The IBA will share every nominee on social media and send them a special gift, as well as randomly select three nominated mothers to win an exclusive Mother’s Day basket.
Moms can be nominated by submitting a nomination including mom’s name, mailing address, a picture or two of her in action at the farm or stock show and the reason she deserves to be recognized as “Mom of the Farm” in written form, audio form or video form to one of the IBA social media platforms or via email to devin@illinoisbeef.com.
Nominations are due to the IBA by May 2, and nominees will be recognized on social media the week prior to Mother’s Day.
The IBA’s “Mom of the Farm” winners will be selected and announced on social media on May 9.
