4-H, junior exhibitors to compete at Ogle County Fair

OREGON, Ill. — The 2026 Queen Contest is set for the opening day of the Ogle County Fair on July 29.

Held at the County Stage, starting at 5 p.m., several winners will be selected at the contest including Little Mister, Little Miss, Young Miss, Junior Miss and Miss Queen.

Many daily events are planned for the 2026 fair including the Reptile Show, Pig Races, Chainsaw Artist Carving and Camel Rides for $10.

In addition, the Antique Tractor Parade will go around the perimeter of the fairgrounds on Wednesday through Saturday starting at 4 p.m.

A wide variety of livestock will be shown by 4-H members and junior exhibitors from Thursday through Sunday including horses, pigs, beef cattle, sheep, dairy cattle, goats, llamas, alpacas and poultry.

A special event is planned at the Grandstand for every day of the five-day fair. The action starts with the two nights of truck and tractor pulls at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.

Illini State Pullers and Tri-County & Rock County Pullers Stock & Sanctioned Tractor Pulls will be competing at the fair.

On Friday, T&A Bucking Bulls Rodeo will entertain fairgoers starting at 7 p.m. In addition to bulls, broncs and barrel racing, the rodeo will include a mutton busting class.

Kids 8 years or younger can test their skills, with the top three contestants receiving trophy and cash prizes.

The Kids Power Wheel Derby is scheduled prior to the beginning of the Robbo’s Extreme Demolition Derby on Aug. 1. It is open to youth up to 10 years of age and entry is free. A first-place trophy will be awarded to the winner.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., the Demo Derby will feature several classes including 77 Newer HOBO, Light Weld, Van/SUV, Prostock Comp and Bone Stock Comp. The top three in each class will win a prize award.

The final Grandstand event is the Monster Truck Show on Sunday, that kicks off at 1 p.m.

All Grandstand events are $15 per person and the Grandstand gates open one hour prior to the event. A one-day pit pass at $25 is available for the Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows.

Admission to the fair is $10 and a five-day pass costs $45. Kids 4 years old and younger are admitted for free.
