CROWN POINT, Ind. — The Lake County Fair will return Aug. 7-16 as fairgoers celebrate one of northwest Indiana’s largest summer traditions.

The fair will continue its long-running focus on agriculture, 4-H and family entertainment. Organizers are planning a full schedule — including livestock shows, grandstand entertainment, carnival rides, food vendors and more.

New for 2026, a beer garden will be featured from 4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 8-16. Guests can enjoy local beers along with domestics such as Busch Lite, Michelob Ultra or Bud Light.

Did you know? During the first Lake County Fair in 1852, the first 69 entries were made and 30 premiums awarded — $48 total. Ten dollars was offered for the “best 10 acres of corn” and $5 was offered for the “second best.”

The fair has grown into a major regional event while maintaining its agricultural roots. Fair officials estimate attendance reaches around 200,000 visitors each year.

This year the Heritage Stage is packed with an amazing lineup Aug. 7-15, including nightly entertainment from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

County and rock singer Jonny James is taking the stage at 7 p.m. Aug. 8. in the Showcase Tent

Additional events include mud drags, a safari petting zoo, woodcarving, canning and quilting demonstrations, and a flower arranging class for kids.
