LAPORTE, Ind. — The 180th LaPorte County Fair will be held July 11-18, featuring a full lineup of livestock shows and family activities.

Founded in 1845, the fair has remained deeply connected to the area’s agricultural roots while expanding to include concerts, midway attractions, contests and community programming. Attendance regularly tops 90,000 visitors.

“4-H exhibits, monster trucks and big-time rides are just a couple things that will make this year’s LaPorte County Fair a great summer destination for all,” said Steve Mrozinski, fair board president.

Country music star Dylan Scott will headline a concert at 8 p.m. July 16. Tickets are on sale now.

A monster truck show will take center stage at 7 p.m. July 18, with a rodeo at 7 p.m. July 13 and plans for a demolition derby in the works.

Free shows include:

• The Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show at noon, 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. July 11-14 in front of the grandstand.

• Buford Bear and his miniature truck will stroll the fair three times per day.

• Gizmo D. Robot, a dancing, joke-telling robot, will roam the fairgrounds all week.

• Silly Safari shows at 1, 4 and 7 p.m. July 13-18.

4-H exhibitions and livestock competitions continue to serve as a centerpiece of the fair, showcasing the work of local young people.
