Indiana chapters look forward to National FFA Week

Cassie Perrin

INDIANAPOLIS — Across Indiana, the iconic blue and gold jackets will take center stage as local chapters celebrate National FFA Week.

From community service projects to school-wide outreach, Indiana’s FFA family is finding creative ways to showcase the impact of agricultural education.

“At the state level, our officers will travel throughout Indiana to join local celebrations and connect directly with students and communities,” said Cassie Perrin, Indiana FFA assistant director of youth development.

“We’ll close the week with the Indiana FFA Foundation’s Blue & Gold Gala on Feb. 28, which brings supporters together to invest in the future of agricultural education.”

National FFA Week is a reminder that FFA is about far more than farming.

Each day of National FFA Week has a theme, ranging from SAE Sunday to Give FFA Day.

“It’s about leadership, career readiness and personal growth for students in every corner of Indiana,” Perrin said.

“We hope communities see the depth of opportunity available through agricultural education and recognize how FFA prepares the next generation of leaders, innovators and advocates.”

How to get involved:

• Attend local chapter events.

• Join service projects.

• Reach out to local agriculture teachers to offer time or resources.

• Show up to encourage students in their personal and professional growth.

“Community involvement makes a tremendous difference,” Perrin said.
