Newton County: Make memories at Newton County Fair

KENTLAND, Ind. — The 102nd Newton County Pun’kin Vine Fair will take place July 10-16.

“The Newton County Fair Board works hard to put on several events throughout our fair week,” said Cory Groover, fair spokesperson. “Each night we host a grandstand event.”

This year’s grandstand and free stage lineup includes harness racing and a demolition derby July 10, pedal tractor pull and church night July 11, fair pageants July 12 and a Rolling Stones tribute band July 13.

Earth Night will take place July 14. The event includes fun, free entertainment and is sponsored by Newton County Soil and Water Conservation District.

4H Battle of the Barns will also take place July 14.

Other attractions include micro wrestling and the IPA Truck and Tractor Pull.

“The antique tractor parade is a family event at the fair,” Groover said. “Drivers often include their children and grandchildren in the event. The truck and tractor pull has been a crowd favorite for year. Our grandstand audiences have witnessed some amazing horse power in action.”

Demolition derbies have been a crowd favorite for years. Spectators love to watch the crashes and bashes.

“We try to bring events to Newton County that our families will enjoy watching,” Groover said. “We want to be a part of your Newton County summer memories.”
