Indiana crop progress for week ending July 26

There were 6.4 days suitable for fieldwork in Indiana for the week ending July 26, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 7% very short, 26% short, 62% adequate, and 5% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 7% very short, 24% short, 64% adequate, and 5% surplus.

Corn silking reached 74%, compared to 71% last year, and the five-year average of 75%. Corn dough reached 20%, compared to 18% last year, and the five-year average of 18%. Corn condition was rated 2% very poor, 7% poor, 28% fair, 54% good, and 9% excellent.

Soybeans blooming reached 73%, compared to 68% last year, and the five-year average of 70%. Soybeans setting pods reached 41%, compared to 39% last year, and the five-year average of 36%. Soybean condition was rated 2% very poor, 7% poor, 28% fair, 55% good, and 8% excellent.

Winter wheat harvested reached 98%, compared to 98% last year, and the five-year average of 98%.

Pasture and range conditions were rated 2% very poor, 5% poor, 29% fair, 57% good, and 7% excellent.
