There were 6.9 days suitable for fieldwork in the week ending Sept. 14, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 33% very short, 42% short, and 25% adequate. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 29% very short, 45% short, and 26% adequate.

Corn dented reached 93%, compared to 91% last year, and the five-year average of 88%. Corn mature reached 50%, compared to 60% last year, and the five-year average of 47%. Corn harvested reached 5%, compared to 6% last year, and the five-year average of 4%. Corn condition was rated 7% very poor, 9% poor, 30% fair, 43% good, and 11% excellent.

Soybeans dropping leaves reached 60%, compared to 58% last year, and the five-year average of 39%. Soybeans harvested reached 3%, compared to 5% last year, and the five-year average of 2%. Soybeans condition was rated 10% very poor, 13% poor, 27% fair, 41% good, and 9% excellent.
