There were 6.3 days suitable for fieldwork in the week ending Aug. 10, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 7% very short, 27% short, 60% adequate, and 6% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 8% very short, 24% short, 61% adequate, and 7% surplus.

Corn silking reached 93%, compared to 93% last year, and the five-year average of 95%. Corn dough reached 54%, compared to 53% last year, and the five-year average of 54%. Corn condition was rated 3% very poor, 7% poor, 27% fair, 52% good, and 11% excellent.

Soybeans blooming reached 89%, compared to 90% last year, and the five-year average of 91%. Soybeans setting pods reached 68%, compared to 71% last year, and the five-year average of 68%. Soybeans condition was rated 3% very poor, 7% poor, 27% fair, 52% good, and 11% excellent.

Winter wheat harvested reached 100%, compared to 100% last year, and the five-year average of 100%.
