There were 6.1 days suitable for fieldwork in the week ending Aug. 10, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 13% very short, 24% short, 52% adequate, and 11% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 12% very short, 23% short, 55% adequate, and 10% surplus.

Corn silking reached 98%, compared to 96% last year, and the five-year average of 97%. Corn dough reached 68%, compared to 67% last year, and the five-year average of 66%. Corn dented reached 19%, compared to 16% last year, and the five-year average of 11%. Corn condition was rated 5% very poor, 6% poor, 26% fair, 47% good, and 16% excellent.

Soybeans blooming reached 92%, compared to 94% last year, and the five-year average of 93%. Soybeans setting pods reached 76%, compared to 83% last year, and the five-year average of 75%. Soybeans condition was rated 5% very poor, 9% poor, 29% fair, 43% good, and 14% excellent.

Winter wheat harvested reached 100%, compared to 100% last year, and the five-year average of 100%.
