There were 4 days suitable for fieldwork in the week ending July 27, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 8% short, 73% adequate, and 19% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 2% very short, 17% short, 66% adequate, and 15% surplus.

Corn silking reached 92%, compared to 86% last year, and the five-year average of 89%. Corn dough reached 35%, compared to 32% last year, and the five-year average of 27%. Corn condition was rated 3% very poor, 5% poor, 21% fair, 54% good, and 17% excellent.

Soybeans blooming reached 81%, compared to 87% last year, and the five-year average of 77%. Soybeans setting pods reached 50%, compared to 56% last year, and the five-year average of 43%. Soybeans condition was rated 3% very poor, 6% poor, 26% fair, 48% good, and 17% excellent.

Winter wheat harvested reached 99%, compared to 100% last year, and the five-year average of 98%.
