There were 4.4 days suitable for fieldwork in the week ending July 20, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 8% very short, 21% short, 56% adequate, and 15% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 10% very short, 20% short, 57% adequate, and 13% surplus.

Corn silking reached 55%, compared to 63% last year, and the five-year average of 60%. Corn dough reached 9%, compared to 12% last year, and the five-year average of 9%. Corn condition was rated 3% very poor, 8% poor, 29% fair, 49% good, and 11% excellent.

Soybeans blooming reached 57%, compared to 65% last year, and the five-year average of 59%. Soybeans setting pods reached 25%, compared to 33% last year, and the five-year average of 23%. Soybeans condition was rated 3% very poor, 8% poor, 29% fair, 51% good, and 9% excellent.

Winter wheat harvested reached 92%, compared to 97% last year, and the five-year average of 95%.
