There were 3.9 days suitable for fieldwork in the week ending July 20, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 2% very short, 10% short, 68% adequate, and 20% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 2% very short, 24% short, 61% adequate, and 13% surplus.

Corn silking reached 79%, compared to 77% last year, and the five-year average of 76%. Corn dough reached 15%, compared to 17% last year, and the five-year average of 13%. Corn condition was rated 3% very poor, 5% poor, 22% fair, 54% good, and 16% excellent.

Soybeans blooming reached 68%, compared to 79% last year, and the five-year average of 64%. Soybeans setting pods reached 30%, compared to 40% last year, and the five-year average of 26%. Soybeans condition was rated 4% very poor, 6% poor, 30% fair, 44% good, and 16% excellent.

Winter wheat harvested reached 98%, compared to 98% last year, and the five-year average of 96%.
