There were 5.9 days suitable for fieldwork in the week ending July 6, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 6% very short, 22% short, 62% adequate, and 10% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 7% very short, 20% short, 64% adequate, and 9% surplus.

Corn silking reached 13%, compared to 18% last year, and the five-year average of 12%. Corn condition was rated 3% very poor, 8% poor, 26% fair, 53% good, and 10% excellent.

Soybeans emerged reached 97%, compared to 100% last year, and the five-year average of 100%. Soybeans blooming reached 21%, compared to 28% last year, and the five-year average of 24%. Soybeans setting pods reached 2%, compared to 8% last year, and the five-year average of 3%. Soybeans condition was rated 3% very poor, 7% poor, 28% fair, 54% good, and 8% excellent.

Winter wheat harvested reached 59%, compared to 81% last year, and the five-year average of 62%. Winter wheat condition was rated 2% very poor, 4% poor, 25% fair, 55% good, and 14% excellent.
