There were 6.2 days suitable for fieldwork in the week ending July 6, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 5% very short, 38% short, 52% adequate, and 5% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 5% very short, 33% short, 56% adequate, and 6% surplus.

Corn silking reached 21%, compared to 36% last year, and the five-year average of 20%. Corn dough reached 1%, compared to 1% last year, and the five-year average of 1%. Corn condition was rated 4% very poor, 6% poor, 22% fair, 55% good, and 13% excellent.

Soybeans emerged reached 96%, compared to 95% last year, and the five-year average of 96%. Soybeans blooming reached 38%, compared to 40% last year, and the five-year average of 29%. Soybeans setting pods reached 5%, compared to 8% last year, and the five-year average of 4%. Soybeans condition was rated 5% very poor, 8% poor, 33% fair, 45% good, and 9% excellent.

Winter wheat harvested reached 87%, compared to 92% last year, and the five-year average of 88%. Winter wheat condition was rated 10% very poor, 6% poor, 17% fair, 53% good, and 14% excellent.
