There were 4.1 days suitable for fieldwork in the week ending June 8, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 3% very short, 16% short, 64% adequate, and 17% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 3% very short, 23% short, 60% adequate, and 14% surplus.

Corn planted reached 97%, compared to 92% last year, and the five-year average of 96%. Corn emerged reached 89%, compared to 86% last year, and the five-year average of 91%. Corn condition was rated 2% very poor, 4% poor, 26% fair, 55% good, and 13% excellent.

Soybeans planted reached 91%, compared to 86% last year, and the five-year average of 91%. Soybeans emerged reached 81%, compared to 67% last year, and the five-year average of 79%. Soybeans condition was rated 2% very poor, 5% poor, 34% fair, 47% good, and 12% excellent.

Winter wheat headed reached 98%, compared to 98% last year, and the five-year average of 97%. Winter wheat condition was rated 5% very poor, 6% poor, 31% fair, 49% good, and 9% excellent.
