Wreath Workshop

CARLINVILLE, Ill. — The Youth Holiday Wreath Workshop will be 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Macoupin County Extension office, 60 Carlinville Plaza, Carlinville.

Get into the holiday spirit and use nature’s bounty to build a beautiful wreath. Natural materials such as fresh evergreens, foliage, pine cones and berries will be provided and are included in the registration fee.

Plan Ahead

URBANA, Ill. — The Four Seasons Gardening Webinar Series program Planning and Growing Vegetables through the Seasons will be 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 28.

The gardening season is wrapping up, but it is never too early to begin planning for next year’s garden. Learn how to get the most out of a vegetable garden with tips for planning, planting, and garden maintenance for every season. Finally, participants can look forward to discussing newer vegetable selections for consideration in future gardens.

Porch Pots

FREEPORT, Ill. — The Fall Garden Series program Evergreen Porch Pots will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nov 28 at the Krape Park Community Building, 1799 Park Blvd., Freeport.

Summer is over, and our container gardens have finished blooming; before you put them in the shed, consider making them into decorative evergreen porch pots for the winter season. As part of the class, participants will make a porch pot of their own to take home. All supplies provided.

Scented Gifts

SAVANNA, Ill. — The program Scented Gifts will be 5 to 6 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Savanna Public Library, 326 3rd St., Savanna.

Staying Active

SPENCER, Ind. — The program Physical Activity Across the Lifespan will be 10 a.m. ET Nov. 29 at the Owen County Extension office, 180 S. Washington St., Spencer.

The program will provide an overview about the importance of physical activity, and review terms, recommendations and benefits of physical activity. There will be a movement break included for participants and an opportunity for them to set a personal movement goal.

Spotted Lanternfly

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A webinar on the spread of spotted lanternfly in Indiana will be 6 to 7 p.m. ET Nov. 29.

The invasive insect infests crops, including soybeans.

Healthy Cooking

CROWN POINT, Ind. — The program Healthier Holiday Cooking will be 1 p.m. ET Nov. 30 at the Lake County Extension office, 2291 N. Main St., Crown Point.

The free program will be presented by Linda Curley, Extension health and human sciences educator.

Holiday Fest

DANVILLE, Ill. — Hendricks County Extension Homemakers will host the 2023 Holiday Fest and Cookie Walk from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET Dec. 1 at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds, 1900 E. Main St., Danville.

Cookie Walk sales begin at 9 a.m. with craft booths and entertainment from many vendors. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
