GALESBURG, Ill. — The program Nature in Your Neighborhood will be from 10 a.m. to noon July 2 at Kiwanis Park, 2191 E. Knox St., Galesburg.
The program will explore, observe and discover new and amazing places in your own neighborhood. This free program is open to all ages and registration is not required.
The program is presented by Galesburg Parks and Recreation, Illinois Extension, Knox County Farm Bureau, Ms. Mariposa Butterfly Resource Bus, and Tina’s Bontanicals.
Future Nature in Your Neighborhood programs will be July 21 at H.T. Custer Park, Aug. 6 at Debbie Klapp Park, Aug. 18 at Rogers Park, Sept. 10 at Lakeside Nature Center, and Sept. 24 at Inbinder Park.

Book to Barn
SPENCER, Ind. — The Book to Barn program for 3- to 5-year-olds will be from 5 to 6 p.m. ET July 5 and 7 in the Exhibit Hall at the Owen County Fairgrounds, 364 S. East St., Spencer.
In addition to story times, participants will make crafts, play games and meet the featured animal of the day. They will receive a book and a bag to take home with them.

YQCA training
VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — Youth for the Quality Care of Animals training will be from 3 to 4 p.m. ET July 6 at the Fountain County Fairgrounds, 476 US Hwy 136, Veedersburg.
YQCA is an annual education and certification program focused on food safety, animal well-being, and character awareness for youth ages 8-21 producing or showing beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, and poultry. If you are planning to show at the county or state level, you are required to have this training.
If you have taken the class already in 2022, you can upload your certificate to the website. If you haven’t taken the class since 2021, you will need to retake it this year.

Hemp Research Open House
