HILLSBORO, Ill. — A free worm composting workshop will be from 2 to 3 p.m. July 15 at the Montgomery County Extension office, #1 Industrial Park Drive, Hillsboro. Participants will learn how to make their own worm compost, and there will be a demonstration of setting up a worm bin. The workshop will be offered in person and online. Invasive species workshop
MURPHYSBORO, Ill. — An invasive species workshop will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. July 15 at the Jackson County Extension office, 402 Ava Road., Murphysboro.
Extension Forester Chris Evans and Forestry Research Technician Kevin Rohling will identify common invasive plant species; demonstrate equipment, tools, and techniques used to control invasive plant species; and provide recommendations and resources for conducting safe and effective invasive plant control.

Garden walk in Monticello
MONTICELLO, Ill. — Explore five Monticello gardens during the Over the Gate Garden Walk from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 17. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 the day of the walk.
Pre-ordered tickets can be picked up the day of the event at Monticello Railway Museum Wabash Depot, 200 E. Livingston St., Monticello, or before July 16 at one of the following locations:
- Piatt County Extension office, 210 S. Market St., Monticello.
- DeWitt County Extension office, 8425 Katie Rd., Clinton.
- Macon County Extension office, 3351 N. President Howard Brown Blvd, Decatur.

2021 Summer Twilight Series
