Farm Safety Day
HAVANA, Ill. — Youth ages 6 and older are invited to the annual Farm Safety Day from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 4 at the Mason County Fairgrounds, 17248-17280 E County Rd 1600 N, Havana.
All activities are free. Lunch will be provided. A parent or adult chaperone is encouraged to attend.

Macoupin County Master Gardeners Plant Sale
CARLINVILLE, Ill. — University of Illinois Extension Macoupin County master gardeners will host a plant sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 5 at the Macoupin County Historical Society Spring Festival, 920 W. Breckenridge, Carlinville. The plant sale will take place on the east side of the grounds, next to the Windmill and Red Barn.
Come and shop for perennials, herbs, native plants, hardware, and more while supporting the programs of the Macoupin County master gardeners. There are many top quality, locally raised plants to choose from.

Let’s Make Jam - Beginner Canning
HILLSBORO, Ill. — Have you ever wanted to learn how to can all those delicious strawberries into shelf-stable jam? A University of Illinois Extension hands-on workshop will teach how to make strawberry jam using pectin and safely preserving it through water bath canning.
The workshop will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 5 at the Montgomery County Extension office, #1 Industrial Park Drive, Hillsboro.
Each participant will take home a jar of homemade strawberry jam and receive other canning recipes.
This workshop also will discuss the differences in jams, jellies, conserves, marmalade, and troubleshoot canning issues.
