Preparing for National FFA Convention

AKRON, Ind. — Hayden Stookey, Indiana FFA state president, is looking forward to the National FFA Convention & Expo later this month.

He shared his thoughts about the upcoming event with AgriNews.

Q: What are you most looking forward to about this year’s National FFA Convention?

A: I am most looking forward to serving as a delegate during the national convention this year. My team and I have the unique opportunity to serve and represent Indiana FFA at the national level, and I am excited to play a role in guiding our wonderful organization’s direction.

Q: What makes the national convention such an important experience for FFA members?

A: National convention is truly an amazing experience for members across the nation because of the connections created. Whether it is meeting a member from a different association or an industry professional in the Expo Hall, convention sparks conversations, allowing everyone to leave with the joy of having met someone new.

Q: What are some of the things Indiana FFA members should be especially excited about this year?

A: Indiana FFA members should especially be excited to cheer on our national officer candidate, Jenna Lawler from Rushville FFA as she vies for a spot on the 2026-2027 National FFA officer team.

Indiana also has numerous members competing and representing the Hoosier State through career development events, leadership development events and supervised agricultural experience program awards.

Other cool experiences available this year include the concert featuring Ty Myers and Avery Anna, the rodeo and the hypnotist show.

I hope that each member attending the national convention is prepared to celebrate our state’s achievements, make meaningful connections and experience the entertainment provided this year.

Q: As state president, what do you hope Indiana members take away from their convention experience?

A: I hope that each member attending the national convention can experience this weeklong event to the fullest. The sessions in Lucas Oil Stadium, the concert in Gainbridge Fieldhouse and the expo in the convention center all provide valuable opportunities we can share.

When the convention concludes, I hope that everyone can think back to their week in Indianapolis and be joyful knowing they were part of the 99th National FFA Convention & Expo.
