Grillo’s Pickles opens Indiana facility

Grillo’s Pickles, with a strong presence in over 31,000 stores nationwide, opened a new $54 million production facility on July 27 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Taylorsville in southeastern Indiana.

TAYLORSVILLE, Ind. — Boston-based Grillo’s Pickles opened a $54 million production facility in Taylorsville in southeastern Indiana.

The 155,000-square-foot facility is expected to bring 150 jobs to the community. The facility is located near sister company King’s Hawaiian’s planned production facility.

“This facility represents a major milestone for Grillo’s Pickles as demand for our refrigerated pickles continues to grow nationally,” said Adam Kaufman, president and CEO at Grillo’s Pickles.

“This investment will help us fulfill demand without compromising quality or freshness, which is a non-negotiable for us. We’re grateful for the local support that made this possible, and we’re excited to become a valued member of this vibrant community.”

Grillo’s Pickles makes pickles that are packed, shipped and sold refrigerated using a century-old family recipe and no artificial preservatives.

The Indiana location is still looking to fill more than 40 jobs, with positions including maintenance mechanic, maintenance technician, director of engineering and more.

“Across the agbioscience ecosystem, companies are investing, evolving and stepping into new chapters,” said Christy Wright, president and CEO of AgriNovus Indiana.

“Grillo’s Pickles opened its new Indiana manufacturing facility, expanding its footprint and adding new energy to the state’s food innovation landscape.”
