NASS releases county yields for Indiana

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Benton and Warren counties were Indiana’s top soybean and corn yield producers, respectively, in 2025.

Indiana’s county yields and production estimates were recently released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Soybeans

Benton County narrowly edged out Warren by 0.1 bushels with an average yield of 69.7 bushels per acre.

Benton harvested 102,600 acres of soybeans for total production of 7.153 million bushels. Warren farmers harvested 69,700 acres, producing 4.853 million bushels.

Other Hoosier counties hit an average of 60 bushels or higher in 2025 were: Tippecanoe, 68.5; Montgomery, 67.9; Tipton, 66.9; Clinton, 66.7; Carroll, 66.5; Howard, 64.6; Boone, 64.4; Bartholomew, 63.9; Madison, 63.8; Decatur, 63.7; Hendricks, 63.6; Jasper, 63.5; Shelby, 63.1; Johnson, 62.3; LaPorte, 62.1; Hamilton, 62; Newton, 62; Huntington, 61.9; Kosciusko, 61.3; Brown, 60.5; Miami, 60.1; and Fulton, 60.

Montgomery was Indiana’s top soybean producer, harvesting 7.582 million bushels from 111,700 acres, followed by Benton’s 7.153 million bushels across 102,600 acres.

Indiana soybeans averaged 59.5 bushels per acre from 5.43 million harvested acres for total production 323.085 million bushels, according to NASS.

Corn

Warren County’s 82,700 harvested corn acres led the state’s averages at 248.6 bushels per acre. Benton’s corn averaged 240 per acre from 119,900 harvested acres.

Other Indiana counties surpassing the 210-bushel per acre average were: Tippecanoe, 233.4; Howard, 230.2; Montgomery, 228.4; Madison, 224.7; Boone, 224.1; Tipton, 221.6; Carroll, 221; Clinton, 219.3; Fulton, 215.6; Hamilton, 215.5; Decatur, 215.3; Newton, 213.9; Grant, 213.4; and Rush, 212.8.

Benton was Indiana’s top corn producer, harvesting 28.771 million bushels from 119,900 acres.

Jasper County farmers hauled in 28.571 million bushels of corn from 143,000 acres, averaging 199.8 bushels per acre.

Rounding out the top three counties in total corn production was Montgomery with 26.038 million bushels from 114,000 harvested acres.

NASS reported Indiana corn averaged 204 bushels per acre, producing 1.067 billion bushels from 5.23 million acres harvested for grain.
