Bunge opens soy protein concentrate facility in Morristown

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the new Bunge soy protein concentrate facility on May 7.

MORRISTOWN, Ind. — Bunge hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony at its fully integrated soy protein concentrate and textured soy protein concentrate facility in Morristown.

The location in central Indiana is the first soy protein concentrate facility built in the United States in more than 40 years and the largest in the country.

According to Bunge, the facility will be the most modern of its kind in the nation, producing an ultra-high purity and affordable plant protein. The new location created 70 full-time jobs and is expected to process 4.5 million bushels of soybeans.

The plant will help meet the rising demand for protein across processed meat, plant-based foods, bakery, snacks, beverages, pet food and animal nutrition.

The new facility is integrated with Bunge’s adjacent crush and refining operation.
