PHILLIPS, Neb. — Beck’s has acquired a Syngenta corn seed production facility in central Nebraska, growing its marketing area in the region.
This will be Beck’s westernmost facility. It will serve farmers in Nebraska and surrounding states.
The transaction is expected to close on Oct. 31.
Beck’s and Syngenta have a longstanding relationship including germplasm exchange, inbred line development, trait introgression, seedstock production, licensing and distribution of traits and germplasm, and seed treatments.
“Syngenta is widely recognized as one of the world’s top genetic and trait providers,” said Scott Beck, president of Beck’s.
“As Syngenta focuses their resources on genetic and trait development and licensing, we can provide production services through the Phillips facility as a way to provide value for farmers and both of our companies for the continued growth we are experiencing.”
The Nebraska location is situated in a region well-suited for growing high-quality seed corn, ensuring access to premium seed production, according to Beck’s.
