LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Exploration Acres created a 22-acre corn maze celebrating Indiana racing.
“This year’s maze is the size of 17 football fields and has 10 miles of paths,” said Tim Fitzgerald, president and CEO of the agritourism destination. “It has images of several race vehicles that Hoosier race fans will recognize.”
The maze was planted using GPS technology to precisely drop seeds in a dot matrix pattern, allowing the design to grow as it is planted.
“The planter technology allows us to create maze designs that were not possible when we used to till the maze paths,” Fitzgerald said.
Exploration Acres is northwest Indiana’s largest corn maze and pumpkin patch. The maze will stay open through Oct. 30.
Other activities include a pumpkin patch, fire pit rentals and hay rides. Vendors will sell food and drinks.
Tickets can be purchased online or onsite. Exploration Acres is located at 6042 Newcastle Road, Lafayette.
