94th National FFA Convention set to be in-person in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — The 94th National FFA Convention, which is scheduled Oct. 27-30, is set to be held in-person, but with a virtual aspect, as well.

Mandy Hazlett, the associate director of convention and events for the National FFA Organization, as well as convention and events management, said this year’s convention will be in-person and organizers are looking at providing traditional events once again.

Hazlett said they will have many in-person events, including tours, general sessions, the American Degree session, the expo hall and the shopping mall.

But the National FFA Convention will look different. Due to local restrictions, fewer people will be allowed.

They also expect quite a few people will not be able to attend because of restrictions in their state or school regulations, which is why the convention will still have a virtual aspect to it, Hazlett said.

With the success of last year’s convention, which was virtual, National FFA decided to still make parts of the convention accessible to others through a virtual platform.

The FFA Blue Room, as well as some student and teacher workshops, will be virtual-only this year, Hazlett said.

There will also be a virtual option for National Days of Service, like last year, which will go the entire month of October with the goal of individuals getting involved in community service projects in their own communities.

“The National FFA officers are so excited and have big smiles from ear to ear,” Hazlett said, adding that the young leaders cannot wait to welcome individuals back to the National FFA Convention.
