Old-time wheat threshing with side dishes of broom making, blacksmithing, basket weaving and other “hands-on” historical skills were all on the menu at the Bos Bros Fall Harvest, an old-fashioned threshing bee.

Alexander Leamon, 23, of Lena, has been identified as the pilot killed in the July 22 crash near the Ogle County Airport in northern Illinois.

As a former 4-H’er and member of a farm family, Renee Gehrke is very comfortable in the friendly confines of the Ogle County Fairgrounds. And that comfort level came through loud and clear to the judges when the 19-year-old from Byron was crowned 2022 Miss Ogle County.
