Beck’s Freedom International Sweepstakes raises more than $31,500

Winners announced at Beck’s headquarters on Oct. 26

ATLANTA, Ind. — Beck’s announced the winners of its 2020 Freedom International Sweepstakes are Jim and Ann Stammen of Fort Recovery, Ohio. They received the keys to a 2019 Polaris General and Load Trail Trailer on Oct. 26.

On July 27, Beck’s launched the Freedom International Sweepstakes in an effort to support the discipleship of families both in the Dominican Republic, as well as right here at home in the lives of Beck’s employees, their families and community.

Over two-and-a-half months, through the kindness of thousands of entrants, more than $31,500 was raised for Freedom International Ministries.

“It is a step of faith to believe that God’s provision is not from a place of getting, but from a heart of giving. I am honored to be able to support this ministry and am thankful for all the wonderful supporters of the Beck Foundation and its causes,” said Shantel Beck.

Freedom International Ministries is a nonprofit organization located in the Dominican Republic. With the help of 36 missionaries, 53 Dominican staff members, interns and hundreds of short-term team members, Freedom International is working to bring lasting change to Dominican and Haitian families living in the sugarcane villages. They operate the Freedom Christian School and offer camp programs, vacation Bible school and chapel.

All of Freedom’s programs are designed to bring the life-giving gospel of Jesus Christ to children and families in the Dominican Republic and to equip them to, in turn, share the gospel as they live out their purpose and design.

“Our ultimate desire is to see people glorify the Lord in all areas of life by walking in relationship with the Lord, developing wholesome relationships with others and using their God-given uniqueness to live for Him,” said Jason Hilgeman, founder of Freedom International. “We’re grateful for Beck’s, Indy Power Sports and others who have donated time and items to help us raise funds for our mission.”

The sweepstakes winner and his family have been Beck’s seed dealers for 26 years. When notifying Stammen that he was the winner, his first response was: “I never win anything, but it pays to be generous and give to people in need, even if you don’t win. We appreciate that the money is going to a good cause.”

The Freedom International Sweepstakes would not have been possible without the support of Indy Power Sports, Load Trailer, Elevated Integrity Construction and Beck’s, who donated the Polaris General and Load Trailer.

The 2019 Polaris General 1000 featured a 1000cc ProStar Twin Cylinder Engine, with 100 horsepower, 12-inch ground clearance, tip-out glass windshield, electronic power steering, on-demand all-wheel drive/2WD/turf mode, cast wheels and a premium soundbar — 100W with eight speakers and Bluetooth connections, two 3-inch LED rear spotlights and a 42-inch front LED light bar.
