FFA for All: Virtual format will allow more members to participate in convention

INDIANAPOLIS — To say nothing has gone according to anyone’s plans for 2020 would probably be a huge understatement.

However, an organization that is not allowing the craziness of the year and strict regulations and restrictions put into place to slow the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic is FFA.

Derick Williams, the 2020-2021 Indiana FFA reporter, said that despite the challenges the year has brought so far, he and the rest of his state officer teammates are looking forward to the 93rd National FFA Convention, which will take place virtually Oct 27-29.

Williams said that with the help of awesome technology it is still going to be an amazing National FFA Convention that will provide the opportunity for members who might not normally get to come to participate, as well.

“It gives others the option to come who maybe didn’t have enough money to travel,” Williams said.

Williams said the virtual platform for the National FFA Convention that will allow more FFA members to participate goes with the National FFA theme of “FFA for All.”

Williams said he and his teammates, along with other FFA members and officers across the country, will still serve as delegates and come together to work on reports and to make any adaptations that may be needed to existing bylaws.

“All delegates will gather through FFA national platform,” Williams said.

Williams said the state officers will stay busy, just as they would at a traditional National FFA Convention.
