DULUTH, Ga. – The Fendt 900 Vario MT Series track tractors provide farmers an easy to operate machine that is light on the soil and delivers comfort.
“The Fendt 900 series tractors are the perfect match for the task of row crop farmers, vegetable farmers and all crops in between,” said Andrew Sunderman, Fendt tactical marketing manager for high horsepower tractors.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of AGCO.
“We’re just getting started and that’s a very short tenure compared to some of our competitors,” said Bob Crain, senior vice president and general manager for AGCO North America.
“I’m extremely proud of what our team, dealers and customers have been able to accomplish and the best is yet to come,” Crain said.
“The products you are seeing today are a great example of the result of a nimble, global company working together to develop solutions for our customers that leverage the experience and expertise that brands in our portfolio can provide,” Crain said.
“Fendt has experienced significant growth in North America over the last few years,” Sunderman said. “We’ve seen this growth in a wide range of areas but specifically in the number of machines sold by nearly doubling in the past three years.”
The Fendt 900 Vario MT is available in three models, 938, 940 and 943, that range from 380 to 432 horsepower.
“The power to weight combined with its mobile track design offers customers a lighter footprint when compared to similar size front-wheel assist or track machines, which reduces compaction,” Sunderman said.
“The 9.8-liter engine is designed with the low engine speed concept producing high torque levels and low engine RPMs for low fuel consumption and quiet operation,” said Daniel Smith, Fendt product marketing specialist, high horsepower tractors.
“An electronically-controlled fan provides greater cooling capacity while utilizing less power,” Smith said. “An optional reversible fan provides front grill cleanout with a push of a button.”
On the right arm rest the joystick allows the user to control speed, direction of travel, hydraulics and hitch functions.
“You can also control powertrain functions, cruise control and vehicle and implement automation,” Smith said. “The armrest controls are color-coded by function — blue for hydraulics and orange for powertrain.”
At the back of the tractor there is a Category 3 quick hitch.
“It has 19,000 pounds of lifting capacity,” Smith said. “The optional hydraulic pump provides 116 gallons per minute of hydraulic flow.”
Track tractors are not just known for low compaction, but also ride quality.
“The tractors have three suspension elements including the pivoting midwheels that absorb the initial bumps,” Smith said. “The Smart Ride suspension takes the shocks out of the bigger field impacts, as well as allow for side to side oscillation to give the operator a level platform. The optional cab suspension takes the ride quality to the next level by removing vibrations of the fore and aft movements.”
The Fendt 900 Vario MT track tractors will be available for pre-sales on Sept. 1 and deliveries to dealers will be in April 2021.
