From the Fields: Still standing

Crops are looking good still. Corn is fully tasseled and pollinating well. Beans are close to or at R3. Some beans still haven’t closed the rows yet, though. Fungicide spraying has started in our area. I haven’t seen to many Japanese beetles this year, which is a great thing. Pulled a few ears of corn and they are 18 to 20 rows, so yield potential is very good.

We have had some storms in our area that have made me nervous lately with 60+ mph winds and heavy rains. Hopefully, the corn can withstand some of these winds and stay standing through harvest.
