Precipitation averaged 0.68 inches, 0.01 inches below normal for the week ending July 17. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 11% very short, 17% short, 67% adequate, and 5% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 11% very short, 18% short, 69% adequate and 2% surplus. Corn silking reached 60%, compared to the five-year average of 64%. Corn dough reached 6%, even with the five-year average. Corn condition was rated 3% very poor, 5% poor, 22% fair, 54% good, and 16% excellent. Soybeans blooming reached 41%, compared to the five-year average of 55%. Soybeans setting pods reached 8%, compared to the five-year average of 21%. Soybean condition was rated 5% very poor, 6% poor, 27% fair, 49% good, 13% excellent. Winter wheat harvested for grain was 96%, even with the five-year average.
